// HOW TO PLAY · ZED

Early Game

Zed mid is AD lethality assassin. Start Long Sword + 3 pots. Q poke during lane phase — your goal is to push enemy under tower and roam.

Level 2-3 spike: full ability rotation chunks squishy targets. Track jungler — AD assassins have escape tools but die to coordinated CC.

Mid Game

Eclipse + Ionian Boots + Opportunity is your spike. Zed dives squishies — roam side lanes post-6 for pickoffs.

Youmuu's Ghostblade 2nd item = movement speed + burst. Serylda's Grudge 3-4th item shreds tanks. Pick off ADC/mid in skirmishes — your kill threshold is 60%+ HP.

Late Game

Backline diver. Zed flash-combos squishies with Edge of Night spell shield. Guardian Angel 5-6th item = revive after dive.

Mortal Reminder vs healing comp. Track enemy ult cooldowns — fight around their key CDs.

Win Condition

Snowball lane → roam to kill carries → close before tanks scale. Zed doesn't carry teamfights — you carry pickoffs.

Win: 5+ solo kills + 60%+ R execution rate on squishies. Lose to: tank supports + control mages (Lissandra, Anivia) — can't burst through HP/zone.

Power Spikes

Level 2 — full ability kit + first burst window. Level 6 — R for guaranteed kill confirmation. Eclipse (1st item) — burst + shield from passive. Ionian Boots of Lucidity — CDR for ability rotation. Level 11 — R rank 2 + 3 items = 100% HP delete on squishies. Edge of Night (5th item) — spell shield vs enemy CC.

Tips & Combos

Combos:

  • W (engage) -> Q + E + auto + R = full burst on squishy
  • Flash + ability for guaranteed engage angle
  • Edge of Night charges as you walk — pre-charge before engage

Anti-tips:

  • Don't dive without 3+ ability rotations
  • Don't engage tank cluster — dive backline only
  • Don't waste R on full-HP tank — execute threshold matters

Pro tricks:

  • Lethality items give you true damage on no-armor squishies
  • Track Flash CDs — kill window = enemy Flash on cooldown
  • Mobility Boots out of combat = fast roam timing
