Early Game
Karma early lane is utility-first sustain. Start Spellthief's Edge + Refillable. Stack quest gold via poke or assists. Stay at max ability range and avoid melee trades — enchanters have no defensive stats.
Ward tri-brush by 0:30 and river by 2:30. If laned vs hook/engage support, walk behind your minions or behind your ADC. Recall when Bloodsong (Spellthief quest) completes.
Mid Game
Moonstone Renewer + Ionian Boots of Lucidity is the standard spike. Karma's utility scales with item count, not levels. Roam mid post-Moonstone for a 2-shot tower trade or a free kill.
Ward objectives 30s before spawn. Karma provides peel and chain-healing — never lead the charge, follow your engage tank or jungler.
Late Game
Backline peeler. Stand 600+ from your ADC, save shields/heals for incoming damage. Mikael's Blessing cleanses hard CC for your carry — counter Morgana, Ashe ult, Malzahar R.
Never flash forward — flash always saves you or your ADC from incoming engage. Mikael's > Redemption > Locket > Ardent priority.
Win Condition
Keep ADC alive through teamfights → ADC scales → win 5v5. Karma doesn't carry alone; you amplify the carry.
Win: 0 ADC deaths in 15min + 3+ Mikael's cleanses per game. Lose to: assassins one-shotting ADC (need extra peel item — Knight's Vow).
Power Spikes
Level 2 — second ability unlocked, full utility combo. Level 6 — R for first major utility window. Moonstone Renewer (1st item) — chain heal procs from passive. Bloodsong (quest complete) — gold income + extended pokes. Mikael's Blessing (3rd item) — CC cleanse for ADC. Level 11 — R rank 2 + 2-3 items. Level 16 — R rank 3 + 5 items.
Tips & Combos
Combos:
- Pre-cast shield/heal BEFORE incoming damage (predict, don't react)
- Auto-attack while abilities on CD — Spellthief passive procs deal real chip damage
- Use R as anti-engage interrupt, not as offensive engage tool
Anti-tips:
- Don't trade in melee — Karma's AA range/damage is weak
- Don't waste W/E shield on full-HP allies — wait for the actual damage
- Don't tunnel on healing one ally — spread utility across team
Pro tricks:
- Stand on the same side of fights as your ADC, never opposite
- Track jungler — enchanters die to ganks more than any other class
- Mikael's cleanses CC mid-engage = ADC survives one full burst rotation
